Rick Cohen, Assistant Superintendent, presented the 8 Year STEM Plan at the July 17, 2018 Board of Education meeting.
Homework is recognized as an appropriate and valid academic activity when it is assigned within appropriate pedagogical guidelines that recognize the needs of the whole child. Homework is considered any assignment that is to be completed by students outside of the normal class schedule.

Metuchen Schools In the News

Borough voters will be asked on Election Day for an additional $700,000 which would fund and provide the following:

- an increase in school psychologist services district-wide
- implementation of a therapeutic program at Edgar Middle and Campbell Elementary schools
- an increase in behaviorist services district-wide
- additional academic support and interventions district-wide
- additional support for learning strategies and study skills district-wide
- clerical assistance for support staff.
Charlotte Breen and Alexandra Lipshutz each scored as Metuchen went out and upset Woodbridge in the first round of the county tournament.
Metuchen is a fantastic story this year, with a very young core helping the Bulldogs become a title contender.
Experts have not put their finger on one specific stressor causing the recent rise in student depression nationwide; however, whatever it may be, school officials in Metuchen are making moves in their efforts to address mental health programing and emotional support for all their students.
