Rick Cohen, Assistant Superintendent, presented the 8 Year STEM Plan at the July 17, 2018 Board of Education meeting.
Homework is recognized as an appropriate and valid academic activity when it is assigned within appropriate pedagogical guidelines that recognize the needs of the whole child. Homework is considered any assignment that is to be completed by students outside of the normal class schedule.

Metuchen High School transformed its sprawling campus into a massive obstacle course for its third annual Proving Ground Team Building Challenge on Saturday.
Eddie Kalegi, a rising junior at Metuchen High School, where he is the online radio voice of the athletic department’s sports teams, will provide live play-by-play on ESPN2 of the Little League Baseball World Series from Williamsport on Wednesday night.
Metuchen High School is once again transforming its sprawling campus into a massive obstacle course for its third annual Proving Ground Team Building Challenge, which promises to be bigger and better than the previous years’ events.
These are challenging times for educators. School funding across the state and the nation continues to be a hot-button topic. Meanwhile our teachers need resources and our students always deserve the best possible education.
The popular saying is “it takes a village to raise a child.”

And with that saying, the Metuchen School District will ask “the entire village” of Metuchen to help in their efforts in addressing mental health programing and emotional support for all their students.
The Metuchen Board of Education plans to seek voter approval in November to raise an additional $700,000 in tax revenue to expand mental health support services for district students.
A good relationship takes time to build, and along the way, trust is formed, collaboration grows, and the collective does better. The same holds true when district leaders, unions/associations, and school boards work together...
