Final Exams & Graduation 2018
A Honeywell alert will go out when the Final Exam schedule is posted on the high school website. Metuchen High School Commencement Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 6:00pm. Graduation, tickets, and the logistics of graduation are discussed with seniors during rehearsals. On the last day of graduation rehearsal, students receive three silver foil graduation tickets which are good for both the indoor and outdoor ceremonies. They may also request additional blue outdoor-only tickets at that time. The Ceremony is held in the football stadium (weather permitting). If it rains, it will be held in the auditorium. Notice of this will go out by Honeywell by 3:00pm the day of graduation. If it rains, the silver foil tickets are the only accepted tickets. The blue tickets are for outside only. If parents require additional indoor tickets, they can have their student line up outside the Front Office the morning of graduation to request them. This is done on a first-come first-served basis, not all requests are able to be filled. Also, if any family requires handicapped seating, the request needs to be in writing to Ms. Susan La Fauci Paredes by June 19th at 5:00pm. She will not be checking her email nor taking additional requests after that time. (email@example.com). All of this information will be explained to the seniors.
At Senior Sign-Out, a Senior Assessment in the amount of $35.00 will be charged to each student. The Senior Assessment is an amount of money paid for cap and gown, two scholarships, and Project Graduation. In regards to the Project Graduation portion – each graduating class leaves a $1,000 donation to the following year’s graduating class. This practice has been in place since the first Project Graduation.
